Teaching

Teaching is one of the most fulfilling and impactful aspects of being a professor. I approach teaching from the perspective of critical pedagogy, in which I engage with students reciprocally through dialogue to come to new understandings of ourselves and the world. Ultimately, I hope that our learning expands our imagination of what is possible in the future—particularly in regard to enacting a more just society.

Practically, I strive to equip my students with critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, and an understanding of social scientific research methods. A list of courses I have taught or served as a teaching assistant for is below.
